Ginseng Extract is extracted and refined from the roots, stems and leaves of the Acanthaceae plant ginseng. It is rich in 18 kinds of ginseng monomeric saponins, soluble in 80°C water and easily dissolved in ethanol. Ginsenosides all have similar basic structure, and all contain steranosteroid nuclei composed of 30 carbon atoms arranged into four rings. They are divided into two groups according to their glycoside structure: damarane type and oleanane type. The damalane type includes two classes: panax anediol type A, with aglycones of 20(S) -propanax anediol. It contains the most ginsenosides, such as ginsenosides Rb1, Rb2, Rb3, Rc, Rd, Rg3, Rh2 and glycoside PD. Panpanotriol type B with 20(S) -propanpanotriol aglycones. It contains ginsenoside Re, Rg1, Rg2, Rh1 and glycoside PT. Oleanolic type: oleanolic acid-C type, the aglycones are oleanolic acid.
The experimental results show that ginsenoside can significantly inhibit the formation of lipid peroxide in brain and liver, reduce the content of lipofuscin in cerebral cortex and liver, and also increase the content of superoxide dismutase and catalase in blood, which has antioxidant effect. In addition, some monomonosides in ginsenosides, such as rg3, rg2, rb1, rb2, rd, rc, re, rg1, can reduce the content of free radicals in vivo to varying degrees.
