1. Antibacterial activity
Based on the extraction and separation of dandelion whole grass, Lu Baotong et al. observed the antibacterial effect of dandelion in vitro and found that dandelion extract has inhibitory effects on Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Streptococcus lactis. Zhong Zhensheng and others found that dandelion extract has a significant inhibitory effect on Escherichia coli and Salmonella. 2. Antioxidant activity
Wu Jie et al. studied the scavenging effects of dandelion flavonoids on hydroxyl and DPPH radicals, and found that dandelion flavonoids have good scavenging effects on both hydroxyl and DPPH radicals. Liu Yang et al. optimized the extraction process of dandelion using response surface methodology. Under optimal conditions, polyphenols were extracted from the whole plant, leaves, and roots of dandelion, and their antioxidant activities were compared. It was found that all three had good antioxidant abilities, with dandelion leaves having the strongest antioxidant activity, followed by dandelion whole plant and dandelion roots. 3. Antitumor activity
Dandelion contains various polysaccharides, which have anti-tumor activity. Research has found that dandelion extract exhibits good anti-tumor activity. Zhao Shouxun et al. studied the anti-tumor activity of dandelion extract in mice and concluded that the anti-tumor mechanism of dandelion is similar to that of shiitake polysaccharides. 4. Anti inflammatory activity
Dandelion contains functional components such as sterols and flavonoids with good anti-inflammatory activity.
