Raw material function

A large number of studies have found that corn oligopeptides have antioxidant, sobering, blood pressure lowering, anti-tumor functions, etc. However, the current research on their underlying mechanisms is not in-depth enough.

1. Protecting the liver

Corn peptides have significant protective effects against liver damage caused by various chemical substances such as carbon tetrachloride, thioacetamide, and alcohol. In addition, according to pathological examination, corn peptide can significantly reduce the degeneration of liver cell fat and significantly improve the degree of liver tissue damage.

2. Promote alcohol metabolism

The unique amino acid composition of corn oligopeptides is beneficial for promoting alcohol metabolism. Corn oligopeptides contain a high proportion of alanine and leucine. It can enhance the activity of ethanol dehydrogenase and acetaldehyde dehydrogenase in the liver, enhance the ability to decompose and metabolize alcohol, and promote alcohol decomposition.

3. Antioxidant

The semi inhibitory concentrations (IC50 values) of corn oligopeptides on DPPH radicals, hydroxyl radicals, and superoxide anion radicals are 1.9, 5.4mg/mL, and 14.9mg/mL, respectively. The reducing ability at a mass concentration of 5.0mg/mL is equivalent to that of 0.02mg/mL ascorbic acid, and the antioxidant ability is dose-dependent on its mass concentration.

4. Lowering blood pressure

In order to study the antihypertensive effect of corn oligopeptides, primary hypertensive rats were used as experimental animals. Different doses of corn oligopeptides (0.45, 1.35, 4.05 g/kg. bw) were administered by gavage, while the blank control group was given corresponding doses of distilled water by gavage. The experimental results indicate that corn oligopeptides have a significant blood pressure lowering effect, which will provide a scientific basis for the further development of blood pressure lowering drugs and functional foods.

5. Enhance immunity and exercise ability

The composition of corn peptide amino acids contains a high content of glutamine, which is closely related to tissue growth and repair. It has important value in improving the body's immunity, maintaining the normal structure and function of the intestinal mucosa, and enhancing the body's ability to adapt to harmful external stimuli.
In addition, due to the rich content of leucine in corn peptides and their rapid absorption, they can quickly provide energy to the muscles and organs of the human motion system, thus enhancing the body's exercise ability.

The proportion of gliadin in corn protein is very high. Corn zein is soluble in alcohols due to its unique amino acid composition.
Alcohol soluble protein molecules not only contain a large number of hydrophobic amino acids, but also lack amino acids with charged acidic, basic, and polar groups, and also contain a large amount of sulfur-containing amino acids. The above factors determine its unique solubility, which is insoluble in water and soluble in alcohol aqueous solutions ranging from 60% to 95%.
The corn oligopeptide prepared by this method still retains the amino acid composition of corn zein, and has a smaller molecular weight and good alcohol solubility. In addition, corn oligopeptides are also easily soluble in water, so they have very good solubility in Baijiu.
